Cooking soup or broth for long periods, drop in some clean eggs to hard boil them. Or you can use a steamer adapter for your pot and cook fish, veggies or reheat leftovers.
You can also drop in a basket or other straining type implement and cook pasta, dumplings, veggies or meats. It will very likely not affect the flavor of your broth/soup at all, or maybe it could enhance it, if you choose.

Here is a way to extend the seasonal savings. Fruit preserves can be made unsweetened, and rely only on the natural sweetness of the fruit. Buy a case of berries when in season. Get organic whenever possible. Steadily rising consumer demand, growers have begun to get more organic produce into local stores.
By and large, mothers are the only workers who do not have regular time off. They are the great vacation-less class. It's true. Children and/or spouses are always around. Everyone always needs something. There's usually way too much to do and most of it had to be done yesterday. There's often tension between work outside and work inside the home. And when mothers do try to take some time for themselves, they usually feel guilty.
